Sunday, May 13, 2012 at 8:28AM To my Mom:
This camp is OK
But I won't sleep here with the rest
I just cannot stay
My own nest is best
(Thank you, Mom, for making it that way)
Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10:13PM If these guys think they're gonna sneak up on Butch and Sundance, maybe they should think about why they're named Butch and Sundance.
Maybe they should look around. In at least three other directions.

Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 6:53AM Here's a view of the non-leash side of a Pal walk. She is the 15-pound bully in the launch-ramp pasture as bunnies and beetles spring away for their perceived lives.

Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 6:01AM Many flaggers never live the glory of actually waving a flag (see above). Stolid and stalwart, they are relegated to a placard. Even the name sounds inglorious.
On top of this, a placard does not wave in the breeze. Instead, it becomes a force to be controlled--ever pushing and pulling. And always the constant inner conflict: do I show stop or maybe slow?
Choices do not abound, exactly, but there are decisions to be made.
